Begin with a brief history of eyelash extensions
Eyelash extensions have been around for a long time. In 1899, Dr William Beaumont introduced the first eyelash extension to the public in England. In the early 1900s, lash extensions were used by celebrities such as Jackie Kennedy and Charlie Chaplin.
In the 1950s and 1960s, celebrities like Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe became known worldwide through their use of lash extensions. After decades of being part of the popular culture, lash extensions started to decline in popularity in the 1970s due to a variety of reasons: The rise of cheaper, quicker alternatives to make longer lashes; skin allergies; and cosmetic procedures for plastic surgery.
Although many people don’t realize it today, American beauty brands started making lash extensions in America in the 1980s. Companies like L’Oreal, Lancôme, Revlon, Avon and Clairol began manufacturing their own eyelash extensions so they could be sold directly to consumers at lower prices than other brands’ versions did.

Pros and Cons of Extensions
Pros:
They look natural, and they last a long time. The glue used in lash extensions is not permanent, so it won’t break down over time
Cons:
Not everyone is comfortable with the length of their lashes, though lash extensions are an alternative for those people who are uncomfortable with the length of their lashes. Lash extensions are usually recommended for people who prefer longer, or who have short natural eyelashes.
Eyelash extensions don’t work on all types of eyelashes, only on the type that are longer than your actual eyelashes.
